Jen Smith, originally from NYC, started creating jewelry in high school. Early designs incorporated large pieces of plastic, Balsa wood, chain, and scraps of leather and were worn by the V.I.P waitresses of MTV's rockin New Year's Eve Party 1987....... oh the 80's. Now residing in Chicago and a full time production manager in theatre, Jen continues her design work but her interest has turned to glass "globs".  Each glob has its edge ground down and a lead free casing soldered around it to be used in a variety of bead work.  The irregularity of the glass (in shape and style, maybe even containing a crack) adds to the unique quality of the piece.  More recent designs include images pasted behind the glass.  Glass globs and glass beads are the current materials of choice and have brought Jen to where she is today.........
